I love this strange thing

but why? The whole point to DRW is to double the load possible from the tires over the rear axle for heavy 5th wheel or gooseneck towing. there is no way you could load that thing up to levels where you would need DRW. Looks...cool i guess.

Maybe they regularly transport crates of gold bullion back there.*
* a more plausible theory is that it’s just dumb.

I’ve often wondered how one would go about adapting the GMT800 dually rear fenders to a Suburban. ...for reasons.

That used to stay at a house on Scenic Highway in Pensacola. The owner also had a gray 928.

It also adds a significant amount of stability. Source: Have towed same heavy load with dually and SRW truck.

I’ve seen this specific one in person, and it’s well done, but it looks super awkward.

Sure, but how much can you tow with that hitch anyway?

We tow around 13.5k with our duallys.

And our Suburban’s hitch is rated for 12k.

I remember dually square bodied burbans were all the rage in the early 90's. There were quite a few used as race car haulers.

Right, well below single wheel capacites

The stinkbug stance and crazy crap all over the front aren’t doing it any favors.

Really?! I’m shocked I never saw it!

Yup!

I first thought “but you can’t put a 5th wheel hitch on that. Maybe they have several morbidly obese children.”
